#1 The Book “Green Eggs and Ham” is a Result of a Bet
The book originated from a bet with a friend. He said that Dr. Seuss could not write a book with 50 different words or less. So, the book “Green Eggs and Ham” was born.
#2 Writer’s Block of Dr. Seuss
Do you have a hard time writing? If yes, you and Dr. Seuss have something in common. In fact, the book “The Cat in the Hat” took him over a year to write this children’s classic.
#3 Dr. Seuss didn’t have Biological Children
Dr. Seuss never had biological children. His first wife was unable to bear kids and his second already has two children from a previous marriage. Ironically enough, he was actually wary of little ones due to their unpredictable nature.

In fact, he had a closet full of funny hats. He used them when he had trouble writing to help the words flow.

The book “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” was Dr. Seuss’s debut. Editor Mike McClintock accepted the manuscript after numerous rejections from other publishers. Dr. Seuss named the book’s main character after the editor’s son, Marco, to show his gratitude.
