I am not sure about some of these. The books they claim were the source were often retellings of an earlier story, often one listed in the answers

Alladin based on 'The Thief of Baghdad by Douglas Fairbanks'? The Thief of Baghdad was a film starring Douglas Fairbanks. It was based on folktale from 1001 Nights as was The Thief of Baghdad.

Christopher Skinner, considering the number of movies based on books written by someone else, I find your remark curious. There are numerous plays, operas and films based on books that have been quite well done. It never crossed my mind to consider that endeavor plagerism.
