Round TV's did not exist. Round picture tubes did, but they were rare. The one in the picture looks typical and it's not round.

Jose Fdo. Serrano, I got a question, why is it called Canadian & American football?. Better off calling these two games Canadian and American rugby Same as English rugby. Real football is what's called soccer which came from Association Football Go figure.

In chemistry, an Erlenmeyer flask is used for mixing reagents because its conical shape promotes mixing when shaken side-to-side (not up-and-down). This is the reason salad dressing bottles have a modified Erlenmeyer shape to aid in mixing the oily and aqueous components when shaken side-to-side.

Unfortunately sugar cubes are being substituted by paper envelopes with common sugar inside. In college we had a press to make cubes with the graein sugar, but someimes made them with sodium bicarbionate and substituted them at the bar. Customers put the bogus cubes in the coffee saucer and it started bubbling and spilling all over the saucer and table. It was fun.

Cubes (for sugar) also happens to be the most efficient volume to weight ratio.

The comments are, at times, more enlightening and entertaining than the questions...whether correctly stated or not...so long as the exchange remains civil. :)

Very interesting - I liked the cartoon characters the most and will be watching for triangles wherever I go now, lol. I looked up the football and found that both rugby and football used pig bladders so I guess it's which came first the chicken or the egg

I like the triangular villain. I never noticed it before, but our evolutionary genes probably identify it and alert us to the danger.

I doubt the football explanation is right. I believe the ball shape comes from the rugby ball shape. American football is the american version of rugby
