Paralyzing beauty of volcanoes

How about Ruapehu in the North Island of New Zealand, and Whakaari/White Island, off the West Coast of the North Island also, New Zealand. I have done the trip out to Whakaari a few years before it had its big eruption which killed and injured many tourists. It is closed now, but the experience was unforgettable.

Where is Mayon Volcano in the Philippines?

In 2012 my husband and I visited Mount Etna in Sicily and he even toured around with a group and guide. Then a few days later we were on the train heading to Taormina, Sicily and saw Etna smoking from a distance it was a great experience.

I have climbed to the top of Vesuvius and Poas in Costa Rica. Lucky both times as it was cloudless and we could see the crater clearly. But my favourite volcano to see was Misty in Peru. I didn’t go up but saw it from the city of Arequipa. It’s majestic!

Kilauea on the Big Island is a shield volcano. Here it is depicted as a mountain spewing lava when in fact the lava comes up to the land surface and travels along the terrain’s surface. Good to do your homework.

I think volcanoes are beautiful but I wouldn't visit them up close.

They are all Amazingly beautiful but the Same time Unpredictable and dangerous

Didn't mention Mt. St. Helens in Washington State, one of the easiest and safest volcanoes to get close to and not worry about an eruption...
